 COST INFORMATION

Cost for Individual Events

  • $20 per individual event
  • Registration Fee: $45
  • To receive a free t-shirt and clambake ticket, you must register by August 16th. Registering early helps us to ensure that we have enough qualified referees for this tournament. Please help us and avoid late fees by registering early.

Cost for Team Events

  • $45 per team event
  • Your team roster does not need to be finalized by  August 23rd, but we request that you provide this information as quickly as possible.

GENERAL NOTES

  • Birth year 1968 or earlier.  
  • Fencing starts approximately10 minutes after close of registration.
  • You must be a current USFA (or equivalent) member. Bring USFA/National/FIE card to Registration. If you have no proof of membership, you must join USFA at the tournament.
  • Masks, Lames and bodycords will be checked. USFA uniform (underarm protector required) and equipment rules enforced. FIE uniforms or FIE Foil or Epee blades are not required. S2000 Sabre blades are required.Fencers participating in multiple events on the same day may have to choose between events. 


NOTES ON  INDIVIDUAL EVENTS

  • Pools with 100% promoted to Direct Elimination with no repechage. Age group recognition awards will be presented.
  • There will be awards through Third Place ties and Medals awarded through 8th Place.
  • If in two events, you must present yourself at the strip when you are required to fence. You may beallowed to enter additional events on the day of the event.

NOTES ON TEAM EVENTS

  • Mixed teams are not allowed. Teams must have all men or all women.
    All team members must register and pay registration fee.
  • The 45 touch relay Team Event format will be based on the European Veterans Team Competitions, with team cumulative age requirements.
  • Teams of all men must have a minimum cumulative age of 150. Teams of all women must have a minimum cumulative age of 135.
  • Team members do not need to be from the same club.
  • There must be a minimum of three teams in a weapon to hold the event.
  • Teams may have up to 2 substitutes but must maintain cumulative age requirements.
  • The Advance Registration Fee for each team is $45 and must be paid by August 23.
  • A limited number of teams may be allowed to enter after August 23 for a Late Registration Fee of $60. The person paying the fee for the team will be considered team captain.
  • Team captains will submit team rosters by close of registration.
  • Epee and Sabre teams will be directly seeded into Direct Elimination based on team member results in the Individual events on Saturday. Foil teams will be seeded based on USFA Classifications and other Veterans event results.
  • Each team will fence in at least two rounds if conditions permit and there will be a match for Third Place.
  • There will be awards for first place and medals through Third Place.
  • If in two events, you must be present when you are required to fence. Bouts in team events may not be fenced out of order. All team members must be present at start of match.
  • If you wish to be on an ad-hoc team, circle which teams on the entry form and be there at close of registration.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION


Clambake: A New England Lobster/Clam Bake (Sponsored by the Tharpe Co.), included in the Registration fee if paid by August 16, will be held on Saturday night at the venue after the fencing.Additional tickets are available through August 23. Other food choices will be available.

  • From Route 95/128 take the Totten Pond Road exit eastbound (Exit 27A).
  • Turn Right at the light at the end of Totten Pond Road, immediately taking the Left lane.
  • Bear Left on Lexington St., then turn Left onto Beaver St. at the light.
  • Follow Beaver St. three quarters around the rotary and past Bentley College.
  • Go through the light at the Shell station on Waverly Oaks Road.
  • Cross the tracks and take the first Left onto Clematis.
  • At the Boston Fencing Club sign immediately turn Right and then Left. You're there!!!

From Logan Airport: Follow signs for Massachusetts Turnpike West, then North on Rt 95/128 to Exit 27A, Totten Pond Rd East.
